Delegate
Florencio Yamada completed his post secondary education years at
the George B. Harris Elementary School then went on to graduate
from Palau High School. Yamada also attended Fiji School of Medicine
to further his education.
Delegate Yamadas employment
background began by joining Palaus Police Force years ago, then
as Sanitation Officer before coming on board at the Environmental
Quality Protection Board. He ran for the House of Delegates and
won a seat to the Second Olbiil Era Kelulau representing his home
State of Kayangel. After serving the people of Kayangel in the Second
Olbiil Era Kelulau, he took time off from politics to concentrate
on business.
While in the business,
Delegate Yamada was selected as a member of the Board of the Palau
National Communications Corporation serving three terms. In the
struggle to maintain a viable business leasing apartments, he also
supported his family running a water transportation for hire business.
As a member of the Sixth
Olbiil Era Kelulau, Delegate Yamada currently Chairs the House Committee
on Commerce and Trade, Vice Chairs the House Committee on Resources
and Development, and serves as member of the Committees on Ways
and Means, Maritime and Fisheries, and Tourism.
