Delegate
Okada Techitong was born on Christmas Eve 1945, and holds an Architectural
Engineering Degree from the University of Guam. He served two consecutive
terms as Executive Officer for the State of Ngatpang from 1993 to
1997, before being elected to the House of Delegates, Sixth Olbiil
Era Kelulau, as its representative.
Under the administration
of former President Kuniwo Nakamura, Delegate Techitong was a member
of the Presidential Cabinet, serving as Minister of Commerce and
Trade for two years from 1990 to 1992, and again for three years
from 1997 to 2000. His dossier also includes General Manager of
the CM Group Palau and Palau International Airport Corporation;
Chairman of the Palau National Communications (PNCC) Board of Directors;
Chairman of the Micronesian Shipping Corporation; Chairman of the
Task Force on Heavy Equipment Training Program; and membership of
the Joint Aviation Task force as well as the Task Force on Agriculture.
Delegate Techitong was
previously appointed Chairman of the House Committee on Commerce
and Trade in the current Sixth Olbiil Era Kelulau, in line with
his work experience and background. He now heads the vital Committee
on Ways and Means.
